KPO Presents the Summer Music Festival for 2007 - July 30 through August 12
Well, it's Summer Music Festival time again - a two week long celebration of Classical music with great performers from around the country. And this year, for our 25th Anniversary, we've got a very exciting lineup of events.
The celebration starts out on July 30th with free Luncheon Concerts every weekday at noon at various locations around Homer and the Kenai/Soldotna area. You can find the exact schedule here.
On Friday, August 3rd, at 7:30pm there will be a Chamber Concert at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna featuring the Southwest String Quartet with Maria Allison and Mark Wolbers.
Come join us at 6:00pm on Sunday, August 5th, as the Rainbow Connection departs the Homer dock for a trip across the bay to Tutka Bay Lodge for Champagne, Chocolate and Chopin à la Tutka, a magical evening of champagne, scrumptious hors d'oevres and glorious chamber music provided by the Southwest String Quartet in an open air setting. You don't want to miss this!
Downward Dog Productions and KPO present Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at the Homer Mariner Theatre on Monday, August 6th at 8:00pm
The Gala Concert will take place at the Renée C. Henderson Auditorium in Kenai on Friday, August 10, and at the Mariner Theatre in Homer on Saturday, the 11th, both beginning at 7:30 PM. The program will feature guest artists Paul Rosenthal, violin, Bob Richardson, founding conductor of KPO/composer and Gary Stroutsos, ethnic flautist.
